Dig Deep 04:26
In my younger days I knew what I wanted Live life, love life, and a chance to make a change I let lady luck lead Never had to scrounge or struggle Pass it on, share the love, I’ve always had more than I need (Chorus) I’m more alive than I was back then I do more now feel free in my skin Dig deep, if not now when You’ve got to dig deep to get what you want out of life Sing it again Ups and downs I’ve had my fair share No need to dwell on days gone by Live and learn, tables turn, get up or go nowhere I give my heart and soul I live a life of gratitude Invest it all, calm in storm, go with the flow Solo 1 - Juli Solo 2 - Jon (Chorus 2X)

I am an old woman named after my mother My old man is another child that's grown old If dreams were thunder and lightning was desire This old house would've burnt down a long time ago (Chorus) Make me an angel that flies from Montgomery Make me a poster of an old rodeo Just give me one thing that I can hold on to To believe in this living is just a hard way to go (Verse 2) When I was a young girl I had me a cowboy Wasn't much to look at, just a free ramblin' man But that was a long time, and no matter how I try The years just flow by like a broken-down dam (Chorus) Make me an angel that flies from Montgomery Make me a poster of an old rodeo Just give me one thing that I can hold on to To believe in this living is just a hard way to go (Interlude) (Verse 3) There's flies in the kitchen, I can hear them a-buzzin' But I ain't done nothin' since I woke up today How the hell can a person go to work in the morning Come home in the evenin', they got nothin' to say (Chorus) Make me an angel that flies from Montgomery Make me a poster of an old rodeo Just give me one thing that I can hold on to To believe in this living is just a hard way to go (Outro) To believe in this living is just a hard way to go

Well, I told you pretty baby, such a long time ago, If I found you with another, well I'd walk right out your door, Woh, you might call me crazy, but there's one thing you should know, Oh honey, if you want me to love you, You've got to give it up or let me go. I know it's useless to be jealous, I couldn't tie you if I tried, But when I think of you messing behind my back It brings a pain I just can't hide. Oh baby, I've been true to you. And if I can make that sacrifice, honey you can do it too. (solo) Well, you come home drunk and nasty, you won't tell me where you've been. Just when things are nice and sweet, you go back out again. Why do you want to mess up a good thing? I'm gonna find me another man, one who wants to give me everything. (solo) Well, I told you pretty baby, such a long time ago, If I found you with another, well I'd walk right out your door. Woh, you might call me crazy, but there's one thing you should know. Oh honey, if you want me to love you, You've got to give it up or let me go.

Walkin Blues 03:24
Woke up this mornin', I'm feelin' around for my shoes You know 'bout that, I must have had them old walkin' blues Woke up this mornin', people, I'm feelin' around for my shoes Well, you know 'bout that, I musta have them walkin' blues Feel like blowin' my lonesome home I got up this mornin', all I had was gone You know, I feel like blowin' my, hmm, my lonesome home You know, I got up this mornin', all I-, all I had was gone Some people tell me these old, worried blues ain't bad at all Worst ol' feelin' I most ever had You know, some people tell me these worried blues ain't bad You know they're the worst ol' feelin' I most ever had Elgin movements from his head down to his toes Breaks in on a dollar most anywhere he goes He's got Elgin movements from-, from his head down to his- Lord, he break in on a dollar, mostly anywhere he goes

The men that I've been seeing, baby Got their soul up on a shelf You know they could never love me 'Cause they can't even love themselves But I want someone to love me Baby I want one to understand Won't put himself above me Who can love me like a man I never seen such losers Don't think I haven't tried Find a man to take me home instead of Always for a ride Baby, I use someone to care Believe it when I tell you darlin' You can love me like a man Oh won't they rock on Like my back ain't got no bone Why don't you rock me one time baby Like my backbone was your own Baby, I want to wait until you can Believe it when I tell you darlin' You can love me like a man Come home sad and lonely Feel like I want to cry Come over here and hold me baby And don't ever ask the reason why I said I, I want a lover Won't have to work to understand Don't put yourself above me baby Love me like a man

Turn down the lights Turn down the bed Turn down these voices inside my head Lay down with me Tell me no lies Just hold me close, don't patronize Don't patronize me … 'Cause I can't make you love me if you don't You can't make your heart feel something it won't Here in the dark, in these final hours I will lay down my heart and I'll feel the power But you won't, no you won't 'Cause I can't make you love me, if you don't … I'll close my eyes, then I won't see The love you don't feel when you're holding me Morning will come and I'll do what's right Just give me till then to give up this fight And I will give up this fight … 'Cause I can't make you love me if you don't You can't make your heart feel something it won't Here in the dark, in these final hours I will lay down my heart and I'll feel the power But you won't, no you won't 'Cause I can't make you love me, if you don't

about

This album is our tribute to the music of Bonnie Raitt. At the time of putting together, Juli was working on her Master's Degree in Songwriting at Berklee. When asked to write a paper on her influences, she did a deep dive on the music of Bonnie Raitt and remembered what an enormous influence she's been on all of us. Our goal was to play the music. Our own way. Note that, with exception of "I Can't Make you Love Me", there are no overdubs on the performances. What you hear is what happened on the days we recorded them.
